Why did you work with Ben, what were your goals and what had you
tried before?
I
decided to work with Ben after I went to a dinner party and saw
how the host had transformed his body by using a personal trainer.
To be honest I did not like this guy. I felt angry that he was looking
great and I was out of shape. For the first time in my life I decided
to do something about it.
I
went down the gym in my block of flats and met Ben. This was effectively
the first time I had used a gym or done exercise.
Despite the worries over what I might have to do to achieve results
I decided to commit to it, as being a workaholic and 48 years old,
I was in danger of exploding! My goal was to fit into Reiss clothes.
How
did you find the experience?
I went
to my first session not owning a pair of trainers or any suitable
gear. I soon bought the necessary gym gear and started following
my metabolic typing plan at Easter. I found the detox challenging
but I ploughed through. After following the plan for just 3 weeks
which included two sessions a week with Ben I could see some results.
I was feeling better about myself, I didn't feel hungry and was
sleeping better and no longer used antacid tablets. Despite some
elements of my routine being a bit strange these initial benefits
encouraged me to carry on.
What
results did you get?
I had not really
tried anything like this before so became (and have remained) totally
dedicated. Now 5 months into the programme, I train with Ben once
a week but go to the gym two or three times between training sessions.
I actually enjoy it!
I
eat what I want when I go out with friends or clients but find that
the things I want have changed, because I have put such hard work
into the diet and training. So, I love a bit of bread and butter
or a bit of chocolate... but only a bit... previously every event
was an opportunity to consume like a nutter. I have had the odd
whisky but mainly stick to white wine.
The
results are fantastic. I have lost nearly 3 stone and my waist size
has gone from 39 inches at Easter (March 2008) to 32-33 inches now
(end August 2008).
It was bloody
hard work but really worth the time, the effort and money. EVERYBODY
notices and I have thrown out all my old clothes and had to buy
a few new ones. The best investment I have ever made and I feel
ten years younger.
How
many 48 year olds do you know who are motivated to get up and run
on the treadmill for 2km at 7.00am three times a week..... AND ENJOY
IT!!?
