Gareth
has been a professional rugby player for over 10 years. He has played
for Wales at various age groups and won the Welsh championship with
Swansea. He now combines playing rugby with working in the finance
sector. He is 28 and live in London
Why
did you work with Ben, what were your goals and what had you tried
before?
I
decided to work with Ben because I was going on holiday to Las Vegas
for an end of season rugby tour. I wanted to be in good shape for
the tour. I also wanted to regain my speed for next season.
I knew
I had to lose some fat to get into shape and had heard so much about
metabolic typing I wanted to give it a try.
My
weight has fluctuated over the years but as a full time professional
athlete I would always get back into shape quickly as I was training
so much.
Now
that I am working in the city full time I cannot devote so much
time to training and knew I needed to sort my nutrition out once
and for all.
It
was also important to follow a conditioning programme which gave
me the results I wanted while fitting in with my often hectic work
commitments.
How
did you find the experience?
Metabolic
typing has transformed my view of nutrition. Initially it felt strange
eating some of the foods that I was eating, especially as I had
been told for so many years that some of these were bad for me but
the results speak for themselves. For the first time in my life
I could control my hunger and feel satisfied after eating a small
sized portion.
I enjoyed
the training plan and found it fitted in well with my work schedule
while still allowing me to improve all aspects of my fitness.
What
results did you get?
I am
very pleased with the results. I have lost 11kg's !!! (24 lbs).
I tried on a pair of 34 inch jeans. This was the first time I could
get into this size since I was 14! I even have a hint of a six pack
coming along. I am still losing body fat now.
As
well as the great results in body fat I am also surprised how I
have been able to feel satisfied after eating despite consuming
what seemed like quite small portions. I have not felt hungry at
all during the programmer
I am
really looking forward to the next rugby season now as I am lighter
yet stronger and faster than at the end of the last campaign. I
can feel my speed coming back which was one of the most important
goals in terms of my rugby. I am very happy with the results of
Ben's programme.
