Daily motivation Tips – The Five Fitness Personalities
There are different types of people and stages of fitness personality. It is always good to know where you and your friends may be so that you can treat their advice with the appropriate level of attention. The main types are:
Type 1 – Do not care about their health and out of shape – These people wonder why the hell you do anything to get in shape. They have no interest in getting in shape. I would not really listen to them for advice or pay attention to any negative comments.
Type 2 – Trying to get in shape but keep failing – These people often drag you down as everything is an effort for them as they try their ‘best’ yet get poor results. Look to treat their advice with some questioning and look out for their mistakes so you can learn not to do the same.
Type 3 – Trying to get in shape and succeeding – These people are great because they are heading places. Make use of their enthusiasm but watch out they are not a type 2 during a good spell and make sure their advice applies to you.
Type 4 – People in amazing shape – If you are trying to get in shape you must find one or two people in great shape already so you can learn off and be inspired by. Look out for their advice working for them but not for you but spend some time with these people each week.
Type 5 – Fake Thin people – Treat their advice with care as it may be based on nothing more than their good luck in results. Also watch out for resentment because they may be putting in less effort but seemingly getting better results.

- Write down where the main people in your life rank along this spectrum.
- Make sure you have friends from all five categories so you can learn and see how they behave differently. Take the best bits and incorporate into your behaviour while noticing the worst behaviours and ensure they are removed form your behaviour patterns.
